Ballyhiernan Beach ((Fanad Peninsula Co. Donegal)  is a long sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, with Rinboy Point to the West and Rinmore Point to the East.  The beach is popular with surfers and great for beach walks. It is a Discovery Point on the Wild Atlantic Way. Ballyhiernan Bay is divided into 3 smaller bays, one of which, Trabane, featured here, is the most Westerly. This entire sandy beach is over 2.5km long and is backed by sand dunes with rocky headlands on either side.
