On the opposite side of Trawbreaga Bay, north of the Bar Mouth lies this beautiful secluded beach called Five Fingers Strand. (Malin) There is a lovely drive to this beach past a church nestled in the hillside. The Long golden beach takes its unusual name from the five long black sea-stacks that protrude from the water on the north side of the beach which allude to fingers. The sand dunes are around 30 metres high and are amongst the highest in Europe. Swimming is not recommended here due to the very dangerous under currents and rip tides. This beach is great for fishing, bird watching and walking. Five Fingers Strand is a stunning, secluded and unspoilt sandy beach on the Inishowen Peninsula on the Wild Atlantic Way.
