Maghera Beach is beside Slievetooey Mountain and its 20 caves, arches and tunnels. Some of these are accessible at low tide. A long golden beach stretches into the bay and is suitable for bathing but beware of the high tides and currents. At low tide there are many splash pools that are safe for children.

Accessibility

The beach is a 200 metre walk through sand dunes from a car park (charges apply). The road to the beach is scenic and narrow in places. Be sure to stop at Assaranca Waterfall along the way. You can’t miss it.
